Feline Emperor

Of course all self-respecting cats behave like emperors as they strut around the place;
but whilst this is a female emperor moth which turned up in the garden yesterday evening,
I can’t help seeing it as a Moggy Moth – a greyish tabby.
After all, it even has hints of the pink inside the cat’s ears!
How on earth do moths and butterflies develop their colour schemes
down the generations…?
