A lovely Cox descendant. I picked them all late this afternoon: although very few had fallen, they were ready to “let go”; and just as well, with a gale gusting Force 9 forecast for all three sea areas tonight (we sit pretty much at the junction of Lundy, Fastnet, and Irish Sea).
Most pleasingly, the apples on the tree in the photo below are growing on one of my grafts, scions donated by Orlanda Kiln; hence the cord, there to help the new growth find its way between existing branches.
