Lovely to see when someone suddenly realises that the beach they’re on is perfect for gymnastics! I had guessed that this young lady, Lili, might be a dancer because she walked with poise like her mother; in fact, she is a keen synchronised swimmer – so especially good at spatial awareness when upside down. Of course I could only scrabble an impression of the action when she decided to start cartwheeling; scroll down and, you’ll see, back in the studio I adjusted the sketch to be truer to her light build. The third picture is the second rotated – trying to make this girl look more “in the air”.
