Poem: How they move

5th August 2020

I love to see a little’un striding:
Such certainty of Great Purpose!

So good, too, when children walk hand in hand,
Harmonious their conversation:
They’re sowing in each other’s minds
Fast-growing seeds of co-operation,
Ever better seeing in that vocal mirror
Another, just as valid, point of view.

No approval, meanwhile, for thoughtless dawdling –
Especially not with gaze upon a screen!
But gladly I’ll commend a Pensive Amble,
The pace allowing pondering, with undistracted eyes
Awide to being surprised by Nature.

And, of course, it’s so fine to see young ones run,
Made to, by a great space of smooth sand –
Not in a serious race, edging aggression;
But just to share
The Joy of Energy!

Probably most inspiring, though,
For being truest to those early years –
Carefree
Warm Breeze
Down To The Sea
Skipping
