The original tree is on Bardsey Island (The Island Of The Saints), off the Lleyn Peninsula at the top of Cardigan Bay; a few Welsh fruit specialists sell grafted trees. An eating apple, best when chilled: not too sweet, very crisp, especially good in salads and an excellent juicer. One of my trees, here: the fruit seems especially colourful this year.
